That’s ok. It’s never too late to try skating for the first time. However if you would prefer to watch, there is an area in the rink or a warm room to watch.
What if I don’t own skates?
That’s ok too. There will be skates at the rink for you to use, free of charge!
Do I need a helmet?
While helmets are not required, they are encouraged. No special helmets needed, any type of brain bucket will do.
What should I wear to this event?
Regular comfortable clothes will do just fine. Some people like to wear jeans, some wear shorts, some wear warm up pants. So it’s entirely up to you. Just remember this is an outdoor cold event that will be held indoors. So please dress appropriately.
Will there be food?
Umm, yes, there will be a lot of food. Pizza, hot dogs, pulled pork, chili, cookies, cakes, cotton candy, cupcakes etc, will all be available to purchase at the event. With all that skating we expect appetites to be strong.
Is skating the only thing to do?
No. There will be crafts, photo stations and magicians there as well.
How can I keep track of the number of laps I skate?
We have lap trackers for sale to help you keep track of the number of laps you skate. There are special beads for each 10, 50 and 100 laps you skate.
Does someone lead the skating?
Sort of. DJ Jason Smith provides the music for the event. He also will lead the skaters to fun activities while skating.
